Questions

QR Code Generator FAQs

Clear answers for file preparation, printing, uploads and common document requirements.

Can I add my own logo and change its shape?

Yes. On the Customize step, open the Logo tab and upload an image - it is placed in the center at a safe size. You can also pick a logo shape (Square, Rounded, or Circle) to clip your image.

Can I change the QR code color and shape?

Yes. The Design tab has ready-made color pairs and separate QR-color and background-color pickers. Under the Shape tab, you can choose custom styles (Square, Rounded, or Dots) for the QR body and the corner eyes.

What types of QR codes can I create?

You can create 12 types of QR codes: URL, plain text, WiFi network login, email, phone number, SMS, contact card (vCard), WhatsApp chat, location (Google Maps), calendar event, social media profile, and app download links.

Is this QR Code Maker free?

Yes. It is 100% free to use and does not require any signup or subscription.

Do these QR codes ever expire?

No. The QR codes generated here are static and everlasting. They will never expire and there are no scanning limits, because they link directly to your data without any tracking servers in between.

Does the QR code data ever leave my browser?

No. The QR code (including any WiFi password or contact details you enter) is generated entirely on your device - nothing is uploaded to a server.

Can I use QR codes for print work?

Yes. You can download your QR code in high resolution as PNG, JPG, WEBP, or as a vector SVG or PDF for large-format printing. Always scan-test the QR before printing posters, cards or notices.

Will a logo make my QR code stop scanning?

It shouldn't, if you keep the logo at the default size - the tool uses a high error-correction level that tolerates a centered logo. Always scan-test with a real phone camera before printing.

Can I make a WiFi QR code so guests can connect without typing the password?

Yes. Choose the WiFi type, enter the network name and password, and scanning phones with camera-based WiFi QR support will offer to join the network directly.

Can I use it on mobile?

Yes. The tool works the same on mobile and desktop browsers.

What is a QR code, exactly?

A QR (Quick Response) code is a type of barcode that stores data in a square grid pattern. A camera or QR scanner reads the pattern and instantly opens the link, WiFi network, or contact card encoded inside it.

Is my QR code private and safe to use for a WiFi password?

Yes. This tool builds the QR code entirely in your browser - the WiFi password, contact details, or link you enter is never sent to a server, so nothing is stored or transmitted.

How to create a QR code for a Google Review link?

Go to your Google Business Profile, copy your short review link, choose the URL option in the tool, and paste it. You can even add the Google logo in the center.

Why is my QR code blurry when printed?

Blurriness happens when you download a low-resolution image or if it's stretched too much. Always use the SVG or PDF download option for large posters and banners, as they scale without losing quality.

How to create a UPI QR code for my shop counter (GPay / PhonePe / Paytm)?

Choose the URL type, then enter your UPI payment link in this format: upi://pay?pa=YOUR-UPI-ID&pn=YOUR-NAME&cu=INR. Paste that as the URL. When a customer scans it, their GPay, PhonePe, or Paytm app opens with your UPI ID pre-filled. Download the QR as PNG and print it for your shop counter.

Can I create a QR code for a specific WhatsApp pre-filled message?

Yes. Choose the WhatsApp type, enter the mobile number with country code (91XXXXXXXXXX) and type your pre-filled message (e.g. 'Hi, I want to place an order'). Scanning the QR opens WhatsApp with that number and message already filled in - useful for shop order WhatsApp links.

QR codes for Google Reviews and Payments

Small businesses can create a URL QR code pointing directly to their Google Review page to collect faster feedback. Similarly, pasting your UPI or payment link creates an instant scan-to-pay standee for your shop counter.

Digital Restaurant Menus and Guest WiFi

Upload your menu PDF to Google Drive and paste the link to create a permanent scan-to-order code for your tables. Use the WiFi QR option to let guests instantly connect to your network without typing long passwords.

Common mistakes

Too much compression

Very small KB targets can make faces, signatures or document text unclear.

Wrong dimensions

Many portals reject files when the KB is correct but pixel size or aspect ratio is wrong.

Skipping the final check

Open the final file once before upload so you catch blurry output or the wrong format.

Using portal-unapproved backgrounds

Some forms need white or plain backgrounds, even if the photo size is correct.
